In this Ooni Perforated Pizza Peel review, we want to share with you what we found when trying out this tool for the first time. Keep reading to learn if it’s a peel we’d recommend.
The Ooni 12” Perforated Peel is ideal for beginners and pro chefs alike. It’s made from lightweight aluminum that makes it easy to slide, turn, or retrieve pizza from your oven. And, thanks to the perforations within it, any extra flour will fall from the bottom of the pizza. These holes also keep the pie from building steam at the base, leading to soggy crusts.
The Ooni 12” Perforated Peel did an amazing job launching and retrieving pizzas. Our team topped our pizzas pretty heavily to see how this lightweight aluminum peel would react. Despite its light nature, it has a very sturdy construction. We felt confident we wouldn’t drop our pizza as we carried it over to the oven.
After using, we hand washed and stored it indoors. Per Ooni’s instructions, this tool isn’t dishwasher safe. It also shouldn’t be cleaned using abrasive materials or left exposed to high temperatures for long periods of time. Take care of your peel, and it will continue to work wonders during your pizza-making experiences.
The Ooni 12” Perforated Peel does its job, and it does it right! Its non-stick surface is great to prevent pies from sticking. The long handle offers maximum control when placing or retrieving the pizza from your oven. Chances are you’ll be working with ovens close to 800°, so this added length is nice to have.
All in all, this Ooni pizza peel is worth having in your outdoor kitchen. Don’t believe us? Try it for yourself!
