The idea of breakfast pizza can be polarizing – some may love it while others may hate it. However, we assure you that it is not only a viable option, but it is also quite tasty. It’s an excellent choice for weekend mornings when the weather is pleasant, or for those who enjoy breakfast foods as a dinner option. Using an outdoor wood-fired pizza oven, you can have your breakfast pizza ready in a jiffy.

You will need:

  • – 1 cup plain flour
  • – 16 tbsp Greek yogurt, without liquid
  • – 1 ½ tsp baking powder
  • – Pinch of salt
  • – ½ cup grated mozzarella cheese
  • – 2 slices bacon, cooked and chopped
  • – 1 medium egg
  • – 3 mushrooms, sliced
  •

Method:

  1. Combine the flour, baking powder, and salt in a medium-sized bowl.
  2. Use a wooden spoon to mix in the yogurt until it is fully combined.
  3. After combining the ingredients, knead the dough on a lightly floured surface until it becomes slightly sticky.
  4. To make 4 pizzas, divide the dough into 4 equal portions and roll each portion into a flat 7-inch diameter base.
  5. Place the bacon, cheese, and mushrooms on top, making sure to leave a vacant area in the middle for the egg.
  6. If you like your egg well done, crack it gently onto the pizza before putting it into the oven and cook for approximately 10 minutes.
  7. To achieve a softer yolk, follow these steps: Bake the pizza for 5 minutes. After the time is up, remove it from the oven then put it back in for an additional 5 minutes. This will allow the crust to brown and the egg to set.
