Any pizza chef understands the importance of investing in a quality pizza peel. It allows you to place pies in the oven without dropping any ingredients. It’s also great for removing your hot pizza without burning your fingers in the process.
One of our favorite pizza peels includes the Artisan Cherry Perfect Peel. Here, we’ll go over why we like it and if it’s a good match for you.
With a 16” wide paddle, this peel is for anyone that wants to make large pizzas. Whether for a family dinner or gathering with friends, it offers an easy way to insert and remove your pies without burning yourself.
If you’re looking for a gift option for your pizza-obsessed friend, they’ll love this cherry pizza peel. Not only is it beautifully made, but easy to use and clean.
The first thing we noted is that this cherry pizza peel is beautifully constructed. It’s hand-sanded which creates a smooth finish. The 8” inch paddle has also been designed with a beveled edge. It looks amazing in our outdoor kitchen and will look great in yours too!
Then, we wanted to see how easy it is to use. The handle was comfortable to hold, but because it is only 8” long, we’d recommend it for small pizza ovens. When it comes to the handle length, you want to be able to reach the back of your oven without burning your skin. We would not advise using this peel for large, commercial ovens.
Also, keep in mind you can always invest in a quality pair of heat-resistant gloves. If you’re set on this peel but are unsure whether it offers a long enough handle, get some heat-resistant gloves to further protect your arms. The overall length of this tool is 26”. Keep this in mind when making a shopping decision.
We would recommend the Artisan Cherry Perfect Peel to any at-home chef. If you own a commercial oven or a large electric one, we recommend going with an option that offers a longer handle. Or, like mentioned previously, invest in some heat-resistant gloves (we suggest you do so, either way, to protect yourself from burns).
