The first step to purchasing a quality pizza oven is buying from a trustworthy seller.

Alfa is a family-owned business that’s been around since 1977. They are well-known for producing quality residential and commercial pizza ovens, equipment, and accessories. This brings us to the topic of discussion: the Alfa One Wood Fired Oven.

Our team had the pleasure of testing the Alfa One and is here to share what we found.

Who is this Pizza Oven For?

Looking for an Italian pizza oven to add to your outdoor kitchen? The Alfa One Pizza Oven is a suitable choice. We will say that even though Alfa advertises this appliance as portable, it’s not very high on our list when it comes to portability.

It weighs 110 pounds which not everyone can comfortably lift. However, here’s what we love about Alfa wood-fired ovens. Naturally, these appliances will be on the heavy side. But, you can purchase them with the base option, which is what we did. The base comes with storage space for wood and 4 professional casters with brakes for easy transportation.

Why Should You Buy the Alfa One Pizza Oven?

Don’t be fooled by the small size of the Alfa One Wood Fired Oven. While it’s small enough to heat up quickly, it’s large enough to cook delicious meals that go beyond pizza.

Here are the main takeaways that make this appliance praiseworthy:

  • – Large Cooking Space. While compact, this small oven fits one large pizza or 2 small ones.
  • – Fast Cooking Times. The Alfa One Pizza Oven took about 10 minutes to preheat and once it was fired up, it cooked Neapolitan pizza in only 60 seconds!
  • – Cooks Beyond Pizza. Don’t limit yourself to just pies. Cook meats, veggies, cookies, and more.
  • – Pyrometer. This feature is basically a thermometer that lets users monitor the temperatures inside their oven. Doing so ensures proper heat when cooking your dishes.
  • – Peephole. Don’t open the oven door to check on your food. This will let the hot air out and make your oven work harder than it needs to. Instead, use the “peephole” to monitor food when the door is closed.
  • – Great Insulation. The insulation of an oven is critical to heat retention. The double layer of ceramic fiber insulation the Alfa One is designed with is the same type used for commercial appliances. No wonder it retains heat so well and keeps the outer wall from overheating.
  • – Easy Assembly. Simply screw on the leveling legs to each corner of the oven. Screw on the door handle and secure the flue up inside the oven, and place the chimney fowl on it. Place the wood basket in the center of your cooking surface, and you’re ready to go!

And finally, it is worth noting that an oven door, chimney cowl, chimney flue, wood basket, leveling legs, pizza peel, and wood holder is included with this purchase.

Our Verdict

The Alfa One arrived at our doorstep quickly, and upon unboxing it, it only took our team about 5 minutes to assemble. In a matter of 20 minutes, we had this pizza appliance fired up and ready to cook delicious Neapolitan pies. Since then, we have been a fan of its compact size, fast cooking times, and door “peephole” for food monitoring.

Try the Alfa One Wood Fired Oven yourself and start cooking up authentic Italian pizzas in your backyard!
